One Trip Without Plan

In February 28, 2020, I went on a trip without plan. That was a trip across 4 cities, 182 kilometers, 11 places and 6.5 hours, and it's without any plan.

It all started from an idea that I want to watch a movie called 1917. It's a war movie illustrating an unknown misery, and it was nominated for 10 Oscar prizes and win 3 of them. However, the reality was against to my wish. The show time of 1917 and the equipment of theater were not good enough, and at the same time, I had wanted to go to Taichung for a period. Then a sudden thought came up, that is, why don’t I head to Taichung for 1917 Imax version and a one-day tour at once? Then it’s how it started.

One 2/27, which was the previous night, what I did was just set the alarm of 8:30. After some simple preparation, I departured for Taichung. The first stop in my trip was a Daiso in Yunlin. When I passed through a market in Yunlin, there was a Daiso grocery shop besides me. I came up that I need a bottle protect case coincidently, and then I left for Taichung after the purchase. As you can see, my trip was genuine unplanned. After 2 hours of sore ass, I finally arrived at Showtime movie theater in Taichung.

The movie 1917 was better than I thought. The biggest feature of this movie is that it’s filmed to look like it’s taken in one-shot. That is, most of the audience won’t find the transition in the movie like the movie is actually happened in real life. The “one-shot” feature makes 1917 much more persuasive and shocking to the audience. All the disasters, dead bodies on the field, massacres, and the feeling of genuine hopeless, they’re presented like we’re actually in the battle field. “It’s already worthy.” This thought came up in my head after the movie. A short break later, I left for the next stop. The next stop is a café restaurant. What’s special is that there’s a model-like box in the garden. Riders from whole Taiwan will come here and take pictures of their motorbike with the box, because it’ll make their bike look like cute models. I firstly want to take picture with it too, but I gave up because there were too many motorbikes waiting. (The second motorbike on the left is mine.)

After few minutes of break, it’s time to go home for the sun was getting down. Suddenly I laughed, because the trip without plan makes me feel like a person in ancient time who need to live base on the sunlight. Riding motorbike for over 5 hours already, the trip made me exhausted that I need to ride faster to stay wake but also placed myself into danger. Because I went on the trip by my motorbike, my butts hurt a lot during the trip. The Showtime theater during the trip suddenly became my rest stop for the following destinations. To be honest, I’ve never thought that I would go on a trip without plan, and even by motorbike. During the riding, I even thought that maybe I’ll pass out in a place that no one knows. But since that I’ve departured, I wished to make outbreak. Maybe when I look back one day, I’ll be glad that in my college life I made some achievement that no one did. Overall, the one-day crazy trip without plan was definitely memorable.
